A Futuristic Oasis in the Red Sea
The Shebara Resort is set to be one of its most dramatic attractions. Located on Sheybarah Island in the Al Wajh Lagoon, the resort is a study in both luxury and environmental responsibility. The location itself is part of a larger project aiming to be a leading destination for eco-luxury, with a commitment to zero waste-to-landfill, no single-use plastic, and 100% carbon neutrality.
Location, Location, Location

The resort is situated on Sheybarah Island, which is described as a "living sanctuary" with diverse ecosystems.... The island boasts dense mangroves, desert flora, white sand dunes, and vibrant coral reefs. The resort's location was carefully chosen, with the arrival point positioned within a natural break in the coral reef. The island's landscapes provide a beautiful backdrop for a luxury vacation, and guests are invited to marvel at the island’s intricate ecosystems.
Innovative and Luxurious Room Design

The room design at Shebara Resort is one of its most striking features and Huxberry is proud to design and deliver Hypnos mattresses for the resort.
The resort consists of 73 keys, with both overwater and beach villas. The overwater villas are designed to look like "a string of pearls" rising from the water. These villas are constructed from stainless steel orbs that reflect the sky and the ocean, allowing them to almost vanish into the horizon. Each orb weighs around 150 tonnes and includes a reflective mirror.

The beachfront villas are nestled within the native landscaping. They are inspired by the undulating sand dunes, and are connected by boardwalks that meander through the landscape. The inland villas provide privacy, while the sliding glass doors of the orbs open to reveal an infinity pool that merges with the Red Sea. A circular sunken dining table emerges from the pool, and a crescent-shaped daybed provides a place to relax.
The interior design of the villas, created by Studio Paolo Ferrari, features a concept described as "naturalistic futurism"10. This design aims to create a guest experience that is both forward-looking and deeply human10. The interiors incorporate tailored materials such as cast glass, travertine, oak, and leather, creating an atmosphere evocative of an ultra-luxury superyacht.
In summary, the room design at Shebara Resort blends modern architecture with the beauty of the surrounding environment. The overwater villas are a technological marvel, while the beachfront villas offer comfort and privacy. All the villas are designed with sustainability and luxury in mind.
